What do we have in common that we can
create new possibilities around?
Every generation faces challenges … each leaves a legacy based upon the choices they make. Wise choices honor the sacrifice of earlier generations and consider the consequences for future generations.
"... they were people who had a hard life
and a strong dream."

Wimberley ... A Way of Life
Since the 1850’s, people in the Wimberley Valley have shared much in common. Several essential themes continue to this day. They are woven into the fabric of conversations.
Yet agreeing on how to make these aspirations real can be elusive. Stuck conversations (link to it) become a daily reality among family members, friends, neighbors and in the public square. Mind reading, fixed opinions and blaming are common. In contrast, genuine curiosity, open-mindedness, and taking responsibility for problems are rare.
The key to shifting the dynamic is a change in attitude. Rather than seeing different ideas as a problem, it’s viewing differing ideas as a resource for gaining clarity on the reality of a situation. The shift is the fuel for arriving at a balanced solution. Deep listening is what makes the shift possible.
We invite youth and adults from throughout the Valley to join us on November 18th, from 2 to 5 pm, at the Wimberley Community Center to move forward in this positive direction. We’ll honor those whose contributions have shaped the Valley we enjoy today. We’ll reflect on the future. And you’ll have an opportunity to explore ideas for expanding on what you love about living here.
The Rolling Oaks Club is serving as neighborhood host providing snacks and volunteers for the event. We look forward to hearing from you!
Join us Sunday afternoon November 18th, for fun, food, fellowship, and full-tilt participation. We believe the Wimberley Valley has a unique contribution to make to the world so let's talk about it. We'll launch steps in that direction and look forward to hearing your ideas!
